On Wednesday April 12 at 4pm EDT (9pm BST, 10pm CEST), we will be holding a missed conversation about safety in online learning. At the #OER17 conference, Kate Green, Markus Deimann and Christian Friedrich facilitated a workshop on safety in open online learning. The intent of this VC session is to continue the conversation on the topic and to open up the conversation to others who were not able to join them in London.

The workshop was held under the theme of #TowardsOpenness (TO). TO is a research driven knowledge base that seeks to provoke conversations and to advise decision makers towards building social and technological infrastructure for connected learning. Find out more about TO on the webpage and visit the workshop pages for #OER17 and #OEB16 to find the provocations by Chris Gilliard, Ahmed Kharrufa, Kate Green, Sarah-Jane Crowson, Robin DeRosa, Maha Bali, Nishant Shah, and Rob Farrow. We also held a VC session after our first workshop at #OEB16 which you can still check out. Just to be clear: none of these materials are pre-requisites for this Missed Conversation session, they are only meant to set the scene.

If you are interested in joining the conversation, please tweet us (@vconnecting) or email info@virtuallyconnecting.org. Please do sign up if you are hoping to take part in the conversation and willing to commit around an hour. The session will be live broadcast, recorded, and live tweeted. Questions can also be posed through Twitter during the session.
